Clemson University Performing Arts Center

Clemson University, Clemson, SC

The “Clemson University Performing Arts Center” proposal explored how architecture could integrate with the natural landscape to create a cohesive cultural environment. At its core, the design envisioned a theater embedded within an outdoor terrace, surrounded by a series of galleries that frame and define the space. A continuous connecting gallery unifies the different program elements, establishing a clear spatial sequence and circulation system. The central theater acts as a flexible, multifunctional venue that engages both performance and landscape, reinforcing the relationship between cultural activity and its setting. This proposal received an Honorable Mention in the Clemson University Performing Arts Center Competition, recognizing its integration of architecture, landscape, and programmatic flexibility.
