ZIPcycle
Washington, D.C.
To augment the performance of active transit alternatives through a bike-share approach, Zipcycle seeks to make performance accessible to the public. The super-light carbon fiber monocoque body optimizes airflow by melding with the rider in a natural, recumbent, efficient, sleek form. The fleet will be a bike-share prototype between urban and suburban areas for efficient active mobility for moderately long protected commutes, with minimal disruption, for example, on Bicycle Superhighways. ZIPCycle will be for the more motivated commuters and competition for e-bikes, populating these longer routes.
