The “Petal Velomobile” project, developed by KGP Design Studio, explores new directions in personal mobility beyond conventional transportation models. The proposal reinterprets aspects of car culture while addressing the limitations of mass transit, introducing a compact, performance-oriented vehicle tailored for urban environments. As an industrial design concept, the Petal Velomobile offers flexibility to accommodate a range of user needs, combining efficiency, accessibility, and expressive form. Its cost-effective approach expands access to individual mobility, positioning it as a viable alternative within the evolving landscape of transportation. This project received the USBTC Award (Milan, 2017), recognizing its innovative approach to urban mobility and industrial design.
